Karen Chan

Qualifications

Karen completed a full-time 4 year degree programme in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with Middlesex University, the same institution where Lily undertook her initial training.  This course provided intensive training on Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine along with nutrition and western biomedicine.  During her time in university, Karen completed over 800 hours of clinical training at the Asante Academy of TCM, NHS pain clinics in North Middlesex University Hospital and Whittington Hospital.

Professional Membership and Standards

As a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM), Karen holds full insurance and adheres to strict Code of Practice and Professional Conduct laid down by these regulatory bodies.  

Karen is also a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network (AFN), a professional and specialist interest group for acupuncturists dedicated to supporting those with fertility issues.  

Specialist Treatment

Karen has a special interest in male and female fertility, gynaecological conditions, musculoskeletal and dermatological conditions.  During her placement in China, Karen had observed and followed the developments of a wide range of conditions in gynaecology, Tuina and dermatology departments at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou TCM University. 

Karen has also undertaken postgraduate training for acupuncture in fertility with the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Warwick.  She offers specialist acupuncture treatment for gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), for couples undergoing IVF and male fertility issues such as low sperm count and morphology.
