Chinese Medicine Research

Working with research institutions to find better treatments

Chinese Medicine RESEARCH

The establishment of evidence-based medicine (EBM) since the 1970s has increasingly encouraged healthcare professionals to supplement clinical knowledge with other forms of evidence when providing care to a patient.  Research and evidence continues to have a significant impact on our healthcare and informs the recommendations made by healthcare organisations such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

A vast amount of evidence and research has been published to date relating to Chinese medicine and which we actively incorporate into our practice with every patient.  Most of this research has, however, been carried out in China and, although research is being increasingly conducted in the West, we believe more evidence is still needed which is relevant to both patients and healthcare professionals here in the UK.

Good research however takes time and money.  That's why we're actively engaging with academic institutions to promote more relevant research, better quality research, and to improve accessibility to this evidence for patients, clinicians and healthcare professionals alike.  Our belief is that a more informed approach leads to better healthcare decisions.

In this section, we're pleased to share with you summaries of recommendations and preliminary research relating to a number of health concerns.  You can access our publications, as well as search for your own articles of interest using the links we've provided to Chinese medicine resources and journals, medical and health libraries and databases and other health resources.

If you have questions about other health problems, please get in touch and we'll do our best to answer your queries.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Journals

The conversation around Traditional Chinese Medicine, complementary medicine and conventional medicine has never been more vibrant.

Research papers are continuously being published online and are an important resource for patients and practitioners.  We believe that evidence based research forms the foundation of excellent clinical practice and progressive public health.
